We came into the game with no points on the board, but were confident that this was the day to change that. We warmed up as a team, got our passes going and felt up for it.

We played some good football in the first half, but went in at half time 1:0 down. Quick team talk and back out there to start the fight back. Soon after we conceded another goal and it looked like we would leave the game with nothing. Cue two substitutions, the dynamic duo Donnelly and Dooley to turn it all around.

Donnelly delivered in a corner and Dooley rose highest to head it home. 2:1. We continued to cause them problems with Dexter and Donnelly’s runs and Dooley’s hold up play. Another good delivery from Donnelly landed in the box, bounced around a bit, Patrick took a swing at it and Dooley smashed it home with his right. 2:2.

Another 10 minutes and we would have won it. Great battling in every area of the field, Patrick in particular had a solid game.

Impact substitutes are hard to find at this level, but when a player has composure, belief and a skilful eye for goal, it can only mean one thing. Man of the match for two goals in 25 minutes: Lukaku. Ronaldo. Dooley!!!
