Registration forms should have
been returned by now with the £20 fee. Can you ensure you get this to me rather
than me chase you. If you need to buy shorts and socks you can get them from me.
Everyone must play in the club colours.
Well it was a mixture this week as
some teams got off to flying starts and others were left in the starting blocks.
The Reserves took time to get in front against Dorkinians leading 1-0 at the
break but in the second half they stepped up a gear and emphatically trounced
them to move into the next round of the AFA cup. Good football with an end
product. The 3rds run of wins came to an abrupt end as they lost at Aloysians.
Down to 10 men early in the game they battled away and maybe with better
finishing could have taken something from the game with the 3rd goal coming
whilst they chased the game. The 4ths by contrast came into the season with a
bang as they hammered seven past newboys Globe Rangers. The goals were shared
around the team but with plenty of good young talent it looks very promising.
The 5ths took the lead against Ravenscroft but then found themselves under
pressure at the back and succumbed to goals scored in the second half as they
took advantage of defensive errors. The 5ths also took the lead but were unlucky
not to win the game as first the missed a penalty and then conceded the winner
with the last kick of the game. The 7ths should have got something from their
game as they created plenty of chances but then conceded goals to defensive
errors to lose 3-1 at Old Parkonians.
Onto the Vets and the A team had a
full squad for a change against Runwell and will be disappointed not to get
something as they missed a couple of gilt edged chances with the goal wide open.
It was a better performance than the previous week but they will need to prise
out some results soon to get themselves up the table. The B Vets opened their
league campaign with a fine win over Low Hall. Missing several key players they
took a 2-0 lead and then took their foot off the gas which allowed Low Hall back
into the game. Nonetheless they battled away conceding 2 penalties and denied a
couple themselves to get the 3 points. Also congratulations to Darren
Braithwaite who scored a hattrick in the process.
The 200 Club is looking for new members. It costs just
£1 per month per number and there is over £1000 in prize money and it helps the
club's finances. If interested contact Max Lea on 0208 954 0708
Please note that I have added a lot more information to
the website including photos and up to date league tables for all teams. Have a look under
Team info and see how your team progresses throughout the season. If you want to
add anything to your teampage either info or pictures email them to the address
