We had some good and disappointing results none more so than the second team
who on another day might have won by a cricket score but the luck you need to
win any cup was not there. Starting with the first team who built up a
comfortable 3-0 half time lead in a fairly hard fought game. Warren Cobourne
picked up a couple of goals and Lewis Jones capitalised on a headed backpass
that never reached the keeper. They eased off in the second half allowing HAC
back into the game but overall it was a comfortable win which takes them to a
semi final tie at home to Suttonians this week. The second team suffered only
their second defeat of the season and it was so disappointing as they completely
dominated the game but could notn score hitting the bar twice and missing
numerous opportunities in front of goal. The goals conceded was scrappy but it
was enough to win the tie. The 2nds are probably the best team in the
competition but it is no consequence now as cups especially are not always won
by the best team. Lets hope they can take it out on Beals this week in the LOB
semi. The 3rds took a weakened side to a friendly at Mill Hill mainly to help
out the 4th team who were short and the 1st team who also had players missing.
So onto the game with 3 9th team players it was no wonder that they struggled
but the performance could have been better if some players had tried harder. The
result didnt really reflect the possession we had.Hopefully they will be back to
full strength this week.
The 4ths had 5 players missing through injury and non availability but
managed to get a strong enough side out to overcome Cholmleians reserve team.
1-1 at half time as in previous games they took off in the second half to score
three times and cruise through to the quarter finals. The 6ths and 7ths fought
out an LOB quarter final and it was a very tight affair. The 6ths were missing 4
players who had gone off to Prague for a weekend trip. Nonetheless the battled
hard against a strong 7th team and gave them their hardest game of the season.
They eventually lost out to 2 own goals and one from Ken Waldron. In addition I
have since found out that Hassan Lasisi has his ankle in plaster having
fractured it during the game following a couple of tackles. It is unfortunate
that this has happened but there was no malice in the tackles and the club
wishes him well and hopes he will be back playing again soon. The 8ths struggled
against a highly committed UCL side and went 1-0 down early on. 2 strikes from
Michael Butterworth brought some confidence back as they took the lead but back
came UCL strongly to win 4-2 and in all probability snuff out any ideas of a
league title. There is still a chance but we need to move up a gear if we are to
remain in contention. The 9ths went over to South London again and came away
with a comfortable 3-1 win at Sedcopians. It was fine team performance to
further continue their ambitions of league football next year.
The Vets teams had some high scoring draws but really should have had all the
points in their positions. The A Vets really needed a win but with them losing a
player with a sending off, quite infairly it was all they could do to draw the
game against one of the other relegation contenders. Plenty of games left but
wins are needed to keep them in the division. The B Vets didnt help their cause
for the title with a 3-3 draw against a team they beat earlier in the season.
Always chasing the game they clawed their way back but couldnt apply the killer
punch. Tim Wright managed a couple of goals and Ken Ballard returned to the team
to score the other. The sunday Vets managed a fine 2-0 win at May & Baker to
take them through to the next round of the masters trophy. It was a comfortable
win in the end and made up for some poor performances in the earlier part of the
competition.
Team performance table and leading goalscorers

http://www.oldparmiteriansfc.co.uk/opfc/default.asp?id=0&seq=30 I will try and keep this updated on a
weekly basis
- Cup
finals double headers and midweek games: So you know there are no subs
charged for cup finals. The subs can be used for travel requirements or a
drink afterwards. Midweek games full subs are charged and double headers ALL
the players involved pay subs. If 17 players or more are used then they all
contribute. You can change as many players as you like between the games. In
double headers each game is of 60 minutes and each side pays the referee
once.
- Cup
Finals, the dress code is either jacket and tie or smart casual or clubwear
such as Polo Shirts. If you require club ties they are £10 each from me.
- CLUB SUPPER / ANNUAL DINNER We are looking at Friday 21 May at Leyton Orient
FC in the new West Stand. Tickets will be around £15 and we are looking for
a good turnout from the whole of the club. So can you make sure you keep
this date free so we can get well over 100 at least to this event. Tickets
will be issued in due course
